What Causes Lip Augmentation and Enhancement ?

Unfortunately, ageing and in Australia photoaging can lead to noticeable changes in the appearance of the lips, including:
- Reduction in lip volume.
- Development of lines and wrinkles on and around the lips.
- Flatter, inward-curving lips with reduced projection.
- Damage to the lips surface and collagen layers
These changes occur due to alterations in the skin and surrounding structures, such as:
- Loss of hydration, collagen, and elastin.
- Degradation of muscle fibres and loss of supporting bone (and teeth).
- Damage to the lip surface layer, resulting in dryness, scaling, loss of border definition, and whitish or grey discolouration.
- Potential for precancerous and cancerous changes.
In line with the latest TGA guidelines, we are unable to display specific cosmetic treatments including cosmetic injections. However, our full range of treatments remains available.
At KDAA we provide various treatment options to enhance and rejuvenate lips.
- Non-Ablative Fractional Lasers (NAFL)
- Rejuvenates and restores collagen and elastin in the lip tissue.
- Improves hydration, lip structure, and colour.
- Reduces lip lines and enhances tone.
- Ideal for individuals seeking non-invasive treatments to improve lips.
- (Ablative lasers may be recommended in those with sun related precancerous and early cancerous changes affecting their lips: Laser Vermillionectomy utilizing either our Fraxis-Duo or Acclaro UltraClear resurfacing devices)
Lutronics ULTRA 1927, Candela Nordlys
- Rejuran (PN or Polynucleotides) a skin healer
- Polynucleotides are injected into the lips, providing a scaffold to repair collagen, elastin, and enhance natural hyaluronic acid production.
- Repairs and hydrates dry lips.
- Restores the skin’s natural elasticity and strength.
- Works well in combination with laser treatments such as Lutronics ULTRA 1927.
Lip Volume and Contouring Treatments
- Treatments for Loss of surrounding Supporting Structures
- A naturally small chin or lack of mid face projection along with age-related bony loss in the mid and lower face can all diminish lip projection and lead to a thinner and inward turned lip appearance.
- Non-surgical interventions are available to help address these structural changes, plus improving overall lip appearance.
Are lip treatments painful?
Precautions are taking including use of a numbing cream to ensure most patients will experience minimal discomfort.
All lips are unique, requiring a tailored approach to address individual concerns. While all these treatments can have benefits, for personalized recommendations based on your individual assessment, a holistic approach and consideration of potential risks including rare complications. A consultation with a dermatologist or aesthetic practitioner at KDAA is required to assess your suitability and discuss expected outcomes.
